Both the teams have won only a match so far and would desperately want to win one to move up the table.
Let’s have a look at some key battles for the match.

rahul vs chahar

Rahul is the second-highest runs scorer so far and has looked in his prime form this season. He has scored 239 runs with an SR of 148.44 and he would like to continue with the same form. They have played good cricket this time but has failed to close in on the wins. Rahul will try to correct a few bases and start back winning. Deepak Chahar was CSK’s lead bowler in the past few seasons. The medium pace bowler had the responsibility of keeping it tight in the powerplay, find that odd breakthrough with his swing and cause trouble with his slower ones. This time around he has taken 5 wickets so far but has an economy of over 8. CSK’s bowling has struggled throughout, and they would want Chahar to lead from the front by doing what he does the best.

agarwal vs bravo

Agarwal has been in top-notch form. The orange cap holder is not in any mood to handover that cap to anyone else. He has scored 246 runs having an average of 61.50 and 166 strike rate. KXIP’s opening looks one of the strongest of the tournament and they would want more such performances. With Bravo’s comeback in the side, CSK would back their bowling unit to march stronger and get them back on the winning side. Bravo has been exceptional for CSK in past. The two-time purple cap holder would be eager to perform for his side and solve the problems the team is facing. Agarwal will be aware of Bravo’s skills and he will be a little cautious facing him on Sunday.

faf vs cottrell

If there is one good thing that has clicked correctly for CSK this year it is the performance by Faf Du Plessis. He has scored the majority of the runs for the team in each match and at times he is the lone fighter for them. CSK would want their prime batsman to continue with his form and try to provide support from the other end. It is Cottrell’s first IPL year and he has already made a name for himself with his lethal bowling. He has taken 5 wickets so far and if we eliminate the memory of that over against Tewatia, he has done a great job for the team. He has sometimes given away runs during the death overs and KXIP would want to correct on that front against CSK.

rayudu vs bishnoi

Rayudu came back from the injury in the match against SRH but didn’t have a great match. Expectations are huge from Rayudu since he has been their best batsman for the last 2 seasons. CSK’s batting has looked a little off-color this year, and Rayudu needs to take up the onus to fix batting issues. Ravi Bishnoi was one of the most hyped players going into this season and the young lad has lived up to his standards. He went wicketless against MI in the last match but has been an economical bowler. Rayudu can play spin very well and it will be a great battle to watch between these two.
