The Good

The most successful IPL team looks strong on paper. Having covered all the basis with an experienced core leadership of Sharma, Pollard, Bumrah, and Pandya Brothers.

They’ve got a powerful opening pair and now with Lynn, it’ll be a nightmare for oppositions to find an early breakthrough. A subtle Indian Middle order comprising of players like Yadav and Kishan.

MI also has the excellent spin trio of Krunal-Rahul-Jayant which were economical than most of the bowlers in last season. The slow UAE wickets will be very favorable for them. In addition to all these, the death bowling looks fiery and it will be tough to score against them. 

The Concerns

Their last visit to Middle East has been unforgettable with Mumbai losing 5 out of 5 matches.

Another thing that might hinder Mumbai will be problems of plenty. It’ll be difficult for the management to choose 4 foreign players out of the prime lot that the squad possesses. Having a bench strength is a positive sign if things click right from the start. But once everything goes south it will test the leadership to revamp and find the best combination.

As far as the superstitions are to be believed “even” year has been evenly worst for Mumbai. And they would want to break the taboo this year.
